Purpose of the workshop:

Among the large data sets of interest to neuroscientists, electrophysiology data from human subjects - such as Electroencephalography (EEG) and Magnetoencephalography(MEG)- could become significant. The promise of non-invasive imaging techniques that are unique in operating at the time scale of neuronal signaling are key to this interest.

Since these technologies could, by directly assessing cognitive function, lead to early detection and guide drug development for Alzheimer's Disease and Autism, there is an interest in bringing them into more widespread clinical use. There are also new technologies which, if the science justifies it, could enable widespread use.

This workshop is meant to bring together members of the local community (as well as outside experts) who would like to explore the potential for such tools, the challenges of signal processing and source reconstruction as well as data presentation and curation.

We have set aside an 1-1/2 hr. session for informal discussion at the end of the day. This could present an opportunity to form collaborative activities.
